Up until about a week ago all I had done was drawn some concept art, character designs, write a script, re-write the script, and then re-write it again. I've got an idea for the story, characters, and some gameplay elements. Who knows if this is going to go anywhere but here is some stuff i've done today for the project.

And yes i know the character in the tests doesnt have a face. This is what he is eventally going to look like. Although im not 100% sure about the colors i want to use.

Since next week I am going to be attending the Ottawa Animation festival in Canada I am not going to be able to do the challenge for next week. ]]>Facebook challenge #1http://www.ochorobo.com/blog/2009/9/23/facebook-challenge-1.htmlSean2009-09-24T01:36:04ZThis is the first of many drawings in a series of "challenges" that will take place on facebook. I figured if I did something like this it would keep me drawing, which I haven't been doing enough of latley. Ok the way this works, if you didn't see my original facebook post about it, is i'll update my status saying the challenge is starting and them people reply with a couple of random words. I'll then pick some of those words and work them into a picture. Im going to try and do this every week, and maybe sometimes there will be theme, or i'll change up the rules to the challenges. Lets see how this goes this week and i'll go from there.

Here's a look into Disney's new 2d animated film The Princess and the Frog. For those of you who haven't been paying attention this is Disney's first 2d movie since they officially closed their 2d animation studio back in 2004 after they released Home on the range. They also handled the distribution for Miyazaki's newest 2d animated film Ponyo, which I still have yet to see. Its good to see things starting to make its way back to 2d.

And its not just movies that are getting the throw back treatment, but games too. Recent games such as Castle crashers, Splosion man, and Shadow complex are all old school 2d games at heart. While Castle crashers is the only one fully animated in 2d, but they all rely on 2d game mechanics. It just warms my heart to see things I grew up with coming back.

It only took me forever to get it edited together only to realize that for some reason anytime i save a project in premiere it cant be opened again for some reason. So i had to re-do everything I just did and then fight with premiere to get the thing exported. It all worked out eventually as you can see because its uploaded.

There is also a new background for the site, do you think its too busy? Is it to much going on?

So far there isn't any new content on the new redesign, so it is more or less the old site with a new coat of paint. With this new hosting plan I am on it should make it alot easier to post here on this blog and update the art section. The way I had it set up before was just so time consuming when it came to putting new stuff up. Using Squarespace now makes things so much smoother. Stay tuned, more to come later.
