Finally here is another animation from me! This is a music video that I animated for Youtube's Brentalfloss. The song is called Baby Mario and Papa Yoshi off of his album Bits of Me. You can check out more of his work at www.brentalfloss.com

I finally got around to coloring the picture I posted a few weeks ago. I haven't had much practice coloring in photoshop so this is my attempt at it. I don't totally hate it, but I'm not in love with it either. I still need a lot of practice.

I haven't been drawing enough lately so i've decided im going to try and post a new drawing at least once a week. This is one I started drawing last week. I came into work early today to finish coloring it but I left that file at home. So expect to see this colored at some point this week.

Quick update. Here is something I did this morning. A pixelated version of my character Toro that i eventually want to put into a game. The little guy from this post for those who don't remember.

As I've said before I've been working on a new animation. In a previous post you can see one of the backgrounds I've completed for it. Unfortunately all of that work is gone. I had been working on it at the studio I work at when I had any free time at the end of the day, and I have not been home to work on the project on my desktop. So there is a couple weeks worth of work that wasn't backed up. When I get home to plug in my external hard drive to begin the back up process I heard a noise coming from the drive and I knew right then that I was never going to see that data ever again. I ended up losing the backgrounds I worked on, some character designs, reference photos, as well as the script.

Its sad I know, but I'd rather it have happened now earlier in the process than later. Luckily for me though I've re written the script a couple of times now so I pretty much know every line of it. I've got rough character design stuff in a sketchbook of mine so its just a matter of cleaning them up and getting them on the computer again. As far as the background goes I still have a scaled down jpeg image to use as a reference, but I'm still going to have to re-create the image so i have a hi-res version for the final film. This kind of stuff is such a headache, but I should have seen it coming. That hard drive was old as dirt and I should have been backing things up on it either on someone else's computer or online. Oh well, what's done is done. So later today I'm going to head down to best buy and get a replacement hard drive. Maybe I should get two so I have a back up for my back up?

Learn from my mistakes. BACK UP YOUR DATA!

EDIT: Just realized that I lost my my storyboards as well. I thought they were all in a sketchbook, but they were all digital.

Animation Sneak Peak

I've been working on getting my next animation project off the ground for quite some time now. Up until about a week ago all I had done was drawn some concept art, character designs, write a script, re-write the script, and then re-write it again. This is the first peice of completed art that is going to be a back drop in the final film. Keep checking back for more updates.

PROJECT CATTLE.

I've been thinking about making a 2d side scrolling game lately. I've got an idea for the story, characters, and some gameplay elements. Who knows if this is going to go anywhere but here is some stuff i've done today for the project.

And yes i know the character in the tests doesnt have a face. This is what he is eventally going to look like. Although im not 100% sure about the colors i want to use.

He's sort of a bull monkey cat thing wearing a luchador mask.
